Description
Hallo, my name is Patience, I am a home carer, and I have been doing so for 5years now. Me and my husband came to Scotland in 2018, we reside in Adrossan, North Ayrshire. My husband is Scottish, we met in South Africa. My profession before was in Hotel & Tourism since I finished school. When I came here I knew exactly that I would like to work as a Care giver even though it is a different industry, but because of certain life experiences, I decided I would like to give back to the community by helping those who need special help and care. I am a caring, responsible person, who loves nature and keeping fit. I love anything that is competitive and always aim for the best results. But mostly I love acquiring wisdom and learning everyday, and taking care of the elderly I find it rewarding that way, and I love it. Not only from the people I look after but also from different communities and United Kingdom has lots of History that I always get to learn. I have experienced a lot as a carer, from learning about different conditions of people, their ways of living, that each and every one of us is are different in our own ways. I have learnt to respect people as individuals as well as their opinions, giving people privacy when they need it. Listening to an individual is a skill own its own and everyone of us need to be listened to, but not only through words, can also be through actions and emotions. As a carer, you get to learn all these ways of communication. I hold a certificate in Dementia care, Palliative Care, Mental Health, Parkinsons and Adult Support and other certificates acquired through training. I wouldn't have chosen any better job than being a carer, yes some days you may experience challenges, but through those challenges we learn, get better and stronger. Therefore I would like to take care of you, your loved ones, and built those everlasting memories.
