Lorraine provided care for my (91 year old) mother at her home on a 2-weeks on, 2-weeks off basis from Feburary 2022 through to Xmas of that year. From the outset, she proved to be an excellent, energetic and resourceful carer, quickly adapting to the new situation, my mum's needs and her (somewhat dry) sense of humour. Besides taking extemely good care of mum (by providing help with getting dressed, ensuring she took the right medications at the right time, helping with personal care - washing, toileting, etc - cooking meals, taking care of laundry, etc), Lorraine also kept my mum company (finding interesting TV programs to watch, talking about books they were reading, etc). She showed great resilience in dealing with mum's (sometimes quite protracted) periods of depression, treating her with kindness and respect throughout. Following a deterioration in mum's condition following a series of illnesses, in December 2022 we took the difficult decision to move mum to a care home near us. This, but Lorraine was a tower of strength (and practical help) to both mum and to myself throughout. Mum and I consider ourselves extremely lucky in having found Lorraine as our carer, continue to be grateful for the extra time mum was able to spend at her own home made possible by her care. I have no hesitation in recommending Lorraine to others. She combines experience and scrupulous competence with energy, good humour and a refreshingly positive "take things as you find them and make them better" attitude.
