Mariana Ciornei has worked for my mother (and her late husband) for over 2 1/2 years. To start off with, she lived in and worked 5 1/2 days per week. As their needs increased, she was very flexible adjusting her hours, as we asked her to, and throughout all that time, was highly professional and competent. Mariana clearly is a carer who genuinely cares and regards it as more than a job. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any caring job.

Mariana is a very good carer. She has the best interests of her client in mind all the time. She attends to details in managing personal care and diet and is a good cook. She keeps the home well organised clean and tidy. She understands the need for a daily routine with accurate administration of medication and she is proactive in communicating with the GP surgery and keeping the family informed regarding her client’s health and needs. She is a social and friendly person with a strong personality. She is a good communicator who likes to chat and keep her client cheerful. She expresses firm opinions based on her many years of caring experience and she is confident to speak her own mind.

To whom it may concern, Mariana began caring for my mum (who has dementia, among several other physical conditions) in March 2022. During this time, I lived in the same house as Mariana, and have therefore been witness to her excellent standard of care. Prior to Mariana, we had employed several other carers, and I can say without doubt that Mariana was the most attentive. In particular, Mariana is an excellent conversationist, and was able to keep my mum mentally stimulated, despite my mum being largely confined to the house due to poor mobility. Moreover, there was a genuine sense of friendship between Mariana and my mum, and they could often be heard laughing together. Mariana also closely monitored my mum’s general health, and immediately voiced any health-related concerns she had; this allowed us to respond rapidly to my mum’s secondary health conditions, which include, but are not limited to: a heart attack, and a potentially cancerous tumour on the bladder. Mariana was also highly proficient in completing day-to-day chores such as cooking healthy meals for my mum, cleaning, and managing my mum’s expense budget. She was also consistent in keeping my mum in a stable bed time routine. Recently, my mum’s physical health has deteriorated, making her care needs more challenging. These new care needs include: periods of incontinence, mobility assistance, and frequent assistance using the toilet in the middle of the night. Mariana rose to these new care challenges without difficulty or complaint, alleviating a lot of stress from myself. My mum’s condition is now such that a care home, providing 24- hour nursing care, is the safest environment for her. Had it not been for that, I would have no problem in continuing to employ Mariana, and I would be very happy to recommend her to prospective clients. Please feel free to get in touch with any further questions.

Mariana has worked as a live-in carer for our mother for two years, from February 2020 -February27th,2022). Wegreatlyappreciatethededication, skillanddiligencethatMarianahas shown in looking after our mother and can recommend her without hesitation as an excellent carer. Our mother is now bedbound and close to the end of her life. But for most of the time Mariana has cared for her, she was mobile using a Zimmer frame and transferring from bed to commode, wheelchair, and into her reclining day chair. Mariana assisted with this and also helped our mother personal care and hygiene, treating her with dignity and keeping her sk in in excellent condition. She also prepared all her meals, providing nutritious home -cooked food, Marianaisa good time manager, and in addition to caring for Mum, ordered food and domestic supplies and maintained the apartment to a high standard of cleanliness assisted by our mothers fortnightly cleaning help. Mariana liaised with the surgery, local pharmacy and with ourselves to ensure we were kept up to date with our mother’s health needs. She made helpful recommendations Shereliablypromptedourmothertotake her medication, to eat and to drink and took the initiative of organizing a structured daily routine which optimised our mother’s wellbeing. This included encouraging our mother to make choices about what music she listened to and TV programmes she might like to watch. Mariana is a good communicator and took trouble to find out what our mother liked and she was observant of how this changed over time. Mariana was flexible about taking her breaks, taking her daily time off in a way that did not necessitatecover, She“locked-down”with our mother during the pandemic, and also adapted her own plans helping to restore our mother’s confidence and wellbeingafterthese. Marianas clearly took great pride in the work she put into her caring. Mariana has a lively personality with a good sense of humour, and her enthusiastic attitude towards life .
