Hello,
I have been working in the care sector for the last 12 years which I really enjoy, I find it is very rewarding and nice to see both clients and patients happy and to feel at ease they can trust and talk to me about any concerns which I am always happy to help with.
I have experience in the community as a Domiciliary and palliative care worker, I also have residential care experience.
My duties as a domiciliary care worker included all personal care, light meal/drinks preparation, medication prompting, shopping paying bills and house work.
My experience as a palliative care worker included visiting clients at home between 3 to 4 calls per day including morning, lunch, dinner and put to bed calls, My duties were to make the clients comfortable by repositioning and giving all personal care/ encourage to eat drink and medication prompting.
My experience in the residential care home setting is as follows, all personal care, hoisting, helping to eat and drink, prompt medication, make comfortable and repositioning of residents with pressure sores, palliative care or to prevent pressure ulcers, regular toileting and catheter care, encouragement to drink and exercise, keeping rooms tidy and assisting on outings.
I also have good communication skills and always report back to client/residents families and management by both verbal and written communication in the resident daily record or client record book.
I am aware of infection control and will wear PPE, I am very clean and respectful, friendly and approachable.
I also hold a care certificate food hygiene and medication certificate.
Please note I work in a residential care home on Friday evening and Saturday mornings.
My availability is Monday to Thursday.
