Description
I am a friendly, warm , honest/ trustworthy, reliable person who is very passionate about elderly care and would go the extra mile to put a smile on someone’s face.
I am good with time management, punctuality and delivery of quality care.
I see it as a privilege to be given the opportunity to spend time with individuals in their golden years.
There are so much wealth of knowledge that can be gain through conversations with the elderly.
To be able to deliver person centred care in the comfort of the client home is brilliant and fulfilling.
I have been a carer for the past 13 years, not only am I a qualified health and social carer but also worked with children as a foster carer for the past 9 years.
During my years of working in a residential care home as an Adult health and social care worker, I supported service users who lived with moderate to severe/ last stages of dementia.
In my opinion I view caring for the elderly as an activity rather than a task. I love to converse whilst doing personal care tasks or engaging in general conversation with clients.
This opportunity led to me receiving dementia and communication champion awards; which today remains a cherished achievement.
Having great love and care for the elderly, I went on to advance my career by completing the PTLLs and A2 Assessor qualification.
This allowed me to teach diploma levels 2 and 3 health and social care to learners at college level which I enjoyed and found quite rewarding.
