Description
I am punctual and give 110% to my job. I like a laugh and joke to lighten the mood. I love doing all sorts of different crafts. I am a cat lover and have two cats at home. I love gardening and love spring when everything comes back to life and all the buds start appearing on the trees. I have no dependants so am very flexible with my working hours. Enjoy going to Greece for holidays especially Crete my most favourite place to go. Love the Greeks and the weather. I am easy going and will help anyone out if I can. I donate some of the items I craft to a daycentre for people with dementia so that they can raffle them off or use them for the tombola to raise funds for taking the people on days out and presents at christmas and birthdays.
Doing care/support work gives me satisfaction in my job knowing that I have made someone's life better. No 2 days are the same. Getting to know my client and giving them the best possible care that I can and taking into account the likes and dislikes of the client. Giving a person centred approach to caring for them. The client always come first. To build a bond and trust with your client so they trust you. I enjoy being a carer as it is a worthwhile job and they become part of the family.
I have worked in care in the community. I have supported adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. I have been a live in carer for a lady with dementia. I have worked days, nights and sleep ins. Worked a variety of shift patterns. I have my Care Certificate alongside lots of other training including medication, safeguarding, moving and handling COSHH to name a few. I have taken a client on holiday to Devon and he thoroughly enjoyed. it. I have also worked with lots of vulnerable people in my job as a floating support worker with a housing association. I have supported clients with personal care, going out into the community, life skills like cooking and menu planning, cleaning and laundry.
