Description
I am an enthusiastic positive person who likes to see the good in situations and people. I enjoy challenges and adventure.
Caring for people in their own environment is such a privilege, particularly end of life care. I believe it is important for people to be treated as individuals, to be respected and feel that they are being heard and that their needs are being met in a kind, positive and professional way.
I initially started care work in 2004, and in that time worked with a variety of clients. A large proportion of my care career has involved palliative care. I have also worked with clients with dementia, Parkinsons, MS, clients who have had strokes, clients with catheters, stoma bags, and various types of hoisting and different levels of moving and handling. In 2015 I joined the Army Reserves as a Combat Medic Technician. the training that I have done with them has provided a number of useful transferable skills and medical knowledge.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with my new clients and assisting them with their needs.
