I have been a caregiver for over 20 years. I am a dependable and professional Live in Care Assistant with NVQ 3. I have worked in various care sectors from Hospitals, Care in the community, Care Homes but mostly Live In. I am a fully licensed car driver with my own car also competent to drive other cars as long as I am insured to do so. I am able to do care planning, risk assessment and also capable of organising equipment from relevant departments if need be, to assist people to remain in their homes for as long as it takes whilst receiving person-centred care they deserve without compromising their dignity, confidentiality and respect. I am capable of doing personal care, feeding, hoisting, taking my clients to appointments and social events. I can work with clients with: dementia, Alzheimer, MS, physical disabilities, mental health problems, diabetic, learning disabilities, Parkinson's, spinal injuries ,stroke, palliative care, end of life etc. I have gained experience in all these areas. I am a very reliable, honest and dependable person with good time management. Ellen is reliable, competent, friendly and professional. Her model of person centred care matches my own beliefs about the rights of the individual to be treated with kindness and compassion and thoughtfulness. She is a very good carer who makes her clients fell safe and contained and confident in the quality of her care. She has cared for my husband on several occasions now - the longest period was two weeks. I retuned to find my husband content and well cared for. My husband is confined to a wheelchair and requires personal care, all of which Ellen delivers respectfully and thoroughly ensuring he maintains his dignity. tEllen is an excellent cook and I have appreciated how she will often leave a meal cooked and ready for Geoff and I to eat after I return. The house is always tidy and clean on my return and Ellen invariably washes her sheets to make one less task for me.
