Description
My name is Joyce and I’ve been a home carer for over 24 years. My experience is vast and previously worked in different care setting in both residential and home care setting. I really enjoy caring for the elderly as I find that they also have a wealth of knowledge which I have learnt from. I like having a good conversation but also understand when to be silent. I have had experience caring for individuals with dementia (Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia, etc.), anxiety, depression, and type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent). I am friendly, hepful, patient, respectful, good communicator, uses my own initiative and motivated by the desire to help people lead independent lives. One of my core values is to provide a person centered care approach with respect for service and everyone who is involved in their care. I can drive with a valid drivers licence but I dont own a car. I’m also competent in providing assistance with duties like meal preparation, assist with eating, drinking, dressing, moving and handling, and bathing. I can escort patents to hospital for treatment and check ups. I have in the past accompanied service users to visit family and friend or attend functions or holidays. In my spare time, I like to walk, dance, read, play card games, cook and bake, and do puzzles. I understand that we can never stop learning and continue educating myself on health/health applications in order to enhance the service users needs. If you need a home carer and think I would be a good fit, please get in contact with me. Thank you

Joyce has helped with the care of my parents who are in their nineties. She did an excellent job and is extremely well liked by both my Mother and Father.

I have known Joyce since November 2018 when she started on her HNC/ HND in health care practice for England. Joyce is a caring and empathetic individual who has had a big impact on her class, her knowledge and understanding in the fields of health and care is wide and broad and Joyce is always the first to support and help others. In the time Joyce has been with us I have come to know her well, I feel she would make a positive impact and benefit any organisation that offers employment.

Joyce has been caring for my mother for a few months now. I wanted to wait to give a fair review. I can honestly say Joyce is great! The interaction she gives my mother is incredible, singing, dancing, taking her to groups, on plenty of walks which mum always loves. She keeps mum very active in body and mind which is exactly what we wanted to keep the mum we knew before the dementia coming out, we were not sure we would find someone to do that but we have in Joyce. She is caring and gentle with mum and I could not recommend her highly enough! Anyone can make meals and administer personal care but what we get from Joyce is priceless!
