Description
I am currently available for cover given sufficient notice.
Since coming to the UK from my home country, Johannesburg South Africa, in 2000, I have enjoyed working in health care in both agency and permanent positions. I have a strong belief in doing a job well and I take great pride in producing quality results in everything I do. I work with confidence in helping to care and support others in meeting their needs and always ensure dignity and respect, particularly in personal and sensitive situations. I am stimulated by my work and aim to continually improve my learning to update and maintain my professional skills and knowledge. I have an empathetic and understanding nature with over 20 years spent in the care field supporting both vulnerable and elderly individuals. I am sociable with a friendly, patient, organised, adaptable approach and openly enjoy interacting with people at all levels and within team environments. I am caring, approachable, friendly, chatty, patient and a hard worker. I am a good listener and enjoy spending time with older people. I have worked in residential homes, nursing homes, EMI units, Psychiatric units, hospices, Dean Neurological, one to one in nursing and residential homes, including 24 hour care in clients own homes. I am trained in dealing with stoma bags. I am not trained in peg feed, though would be willing to do this if given appropriate training. I am a good cook and can accommodate most dietary and cultural needs.
I am currently working but am looking for a position closer to home, so would need to give a couple of weeks notice .
I am looking for a long term live-in position with ideally a one week on, one week off rota. I can travel up to 2 hours from Gloucester using public transport.
