Description
Hello there. I am a hardworking, caring and compassionate carer .I attend church and like gardening ,cooking and singing I am a very calm person, patient, caring and helpful.
My passion for caring started when I was looking after my grandmother due to a fairly long period of illness it inspired me to work as a live in carer. I have worked as a self employed carer and travelled around the UK looking after different clients. Many of them I have fond memories of and keep in contact with the family.
Professionally I have worked with many clients who have had all different care needs and I have gained a lot of experience, confidence and skills.
My role as a live in carer varies from client to client due to the level of care required it is important to always read the care plan to provide a high quality standard of care.
On a day to day basis my role requires understanding, patient, good communication skills and empathy.
As a live in care worker my primary duties include providing physical care and support in the comfort of the clients home. Ensuring their independence is maintained.
Assisting the patient with bathing, grooming and getting dressed
Handling household tasks like grocery shopping and laundry
Preparing and serving meals at the appropriate time
Administering oral and topical medication under the supervision of medical personnel
Providing mental and emotional support
Making recommendations to family members and healthcare personnel on the plan of care
Organising suitable recreational activities for the patient
Collaborating with other health care and social care professionals to provide the best possible care
Companionship and been able to listen and emphasis with the client.
I love been a health worker as it has allowed me to make a difference in the community and expanded my knowledge and skills in the care sector.

Sylviah was the permanent carer looking after my mother for 2 years .She is a lovely person, intelligent, caring kind and considerate my mum loved her and enjoyed been looked after by Sylviah. She became a part of our family and was able to work with us and other health care professionals to provide the best care for my mother. My mum enjoyed going out to garden centres with her, cooking and going to church as this was important to her.Throughout she has been excellent and took all the pressure of we could not have managed without Sylviah. I would highly reccommend her and wish her all the best .
