Who I become a carer, I was about 15 and voluntary at our community to help in church to look after children in orphanage. My grandmother came to life with us she had dementia, by then we knew nothing about dementia. So I helped our mum looking after our grandmother with my sisters.
Came to England in 2000 and then 2002 I started working with Bupa nursing home for 5 years. You will experience how it is to live with someone and you learn to know your client better and know other people's cultures and stand understand othe people in life. Worked in children home some abused, some drug addiction, some left they home with different issues. I'm very hard working lady who always put my client first. What to see that my client are safe at their home. I'm a caring person and easy to approach good team work. Good listener and good communication. That's good about carer you need be someone who have a good communication and good listener. Like to keep everything organised and keeping my managers updated about everything that need to be reported. And why I enjoy care is that its not just a job that you just come in do you work and go. I enjoy it cause you come to work with excitement to meet different challenges or look forward to help with something different, cause you find that most of the days it's different with our clients, though most you keep routine. Alice looked after mum for over a year until the end of her life. She made a commitment to take care of her even though she had planned to move back to Scotland. Even when mum was at her worst with the dementia Alice showed love care and patience For this we will be forever grateful and consider her part of the family. It is a great pleasure to be asked to give a reference for Martha Martha looked after my dear mum until she passed away Martha was absolutely amazing. Loving kind professional and we wouldn’t have been able to kept mum (and our promises) in her own home as long as we did She was there over and beyond her duties and we will be forever grateful Anyone who is lucky enough to have Martha care for their loved ones is extremely lucky!
