Description
I have over 7 years experience of providing live-in and hourly care for many gentlemen and ladies throughout the UK. My skills include help and support with full personal care, rehabilitation, emotional support, dementia, mobility, companionship, nutrition, cooking, shopping; walking the dogs and many more as and when required.
Building genuine relationships through reliability, trust and a caring approach are at the core of my values. My duty of care ensures I actively promote my client's rights and wellbeing; uphold their dignity; and fulfil their needs with a person-centred approach.
I am a caring and compassionate person who is very approachable with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. I thoroughly enjoy helping other people to enjoy their life to the full and always endeavour to deliver excellent standards in everything I do. I am very organised, reliable and hard working whilst always remaining calm under pressure. I have a clean driving licence.
I returned many times to provide full personal care, home assistance, and companionship for a lady in Guernsey ensuring she kept the active life she was accustomed to. For a three year period I became a regular live-in carer for a couple in Cambridgeshire who required nutritional meals, companionship, household chores, and assistance as and when required. This then expanded to full personal care, rehabilitation exercises and emotional support.
Domiciliary care, I have cared for five clients totaling 25 hours each week. One gentleman was primarily companionship and rehabilitation with five hours daily care and encouragement with hydration, nutrition and physiotherapy exercises. After six weeks he gained the strength and confidence to join other residents for meals and social gatherings. I also continued to help his wife during a very difficult time for a further three months until she too was able to continue life unaided.
