Description
I am a Londoner living in Greenwich and have been a carer for the past 15 years. I am a professional; compassionate, caring, a good listener, respectful, trustworthy and I am very friendly. I recently completed a Level 5 Foundation degree in Health & Social Care at the University of Greenwich, so I am up to date with the latest techniques and thinking in health and social care.
I currently support both young and elderly clients in their own homes, helping them with mental and physical health needs with a focus on maintaining and improving their independence. In the recent past, I have delivered one to one care in acute settings, such as on hospital wards, working alongside doctors, nurses, midwives and occupational therapists. I have training in End of Life Care and work as a volunteer in Hospice Care, as well as visiting people battling with an incurable disease in their own homes. I help with their day to day activities, experience that helps me a great deal when with working with disabled and elderly people, maintaining their health an independence. One of the most rewarding things I have done recently is creating a story picture with an elderly client suffering from dementia. It helped them to remember their life, allowing them to take pride and dignity from their achievements.
I enjoy meeting new people, cooking, going for walks, traveling, going to the movies and reading. If you like the sound of me, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
