Description
I am a 41 year old single mum of a 24yr old Daughter whom I am very proud of. I am patient, attentive, calm and efficient. My hobbies are cooking, baking, swimming and playing basketball. On my time off I usually travel visit with my daughter who lives away from home, having completed her Master's. I enjoy ensuring that all of my clients recieve tailormade care according to their needs with their input placed at the forefront of everything I do.
I have 8 years of Care experience starting as a Care Assistant, working my way to Senior Carer and Activity Coordinator in a residential home of 42 residents who had various forms of Dementia, leading a team of 7 Care Assistants. I then moved into live in care, caring for couples who both again had various forms of Dementia and other health issues. I have experience of working with Stoma bags, catheters and peg feeds.
Throughout my years working in the Care sector I have gained experience in drafting client care plans, liasing with professionals such as Doctor's, Social Workers, Benefits advisors, Local Council offices all to ensure that my clients needs are met.
I fully am aware that not everyday is going to be the same emotionally mentally or physically with my clients and do adapt to suit their needs.
Part of my duties as a Live in Carer was the upkeep of my clients home as well as the ordering in of groceries and daily meal prep. I also would give both clients hair cuts, wash and dry's. My female clients also particularly liked manicures and pedicures which brightened up their day.
In my role of Activity Coordinator I used to plan and engage our residents with activities that stimulated their mind and body with various games and exercises. These would not only help break up their day but also give them something to look forward to engaging in. I would also centre activities in the build up to current event for example start making home made Xmas decorations or cards in the run up to Christmas.
