My name is Nancy. I have been a carer for the last 10 years. My first 5 years was all about getting experience working in different settings. I began my career in a care home .I was there for 1 year. Then I moved to the hospital where I did night shifts for 2 years and then 2 years as a support worker inthe community.
All this time , due to the work environment I was in, I realized that I didn't have much job satisfaction I didn't have time to build relationships with the patients or even do more for them.
That's when I decided to get into live in care . I am happy to report that since then I haven't looked back. I have not only got the job satisfaction that I was longing for, but I have met some fabulous people along the way and built long term relationships that are now family to me.
I have worked with clients with stroke, Dementia, Parkinson disease, MS, Learning Disability, Diabetes, Eating Disorders and Cerebral Palsy just to name afew.
I am not only warm and bubbly but also kind and calm even under pressure.
I prefer longterm placements.
My work pattern is 12 weeks on ,then a week's break and a 6 week holiday sometime inthe year.
I enjoy reading,walks,meeting up with friends and travel.
I am looking forward to meeting and working with you.
