Hello, I'm Susan L, a caring and compassionate carer. I strongly believe in allowing my clients to have as much independence and choice as is possible, whilst ensuring safety. I like my clients to feel secure, dignified and respected at all times. You will find me reliable, trustworthy and flexible.
I have worked with all ages, from babies to elderly. My experience includes working with people who have limited physical ability eg: cerebral palsy, stroke, diminishing physical and mental capacity , including Mild Cognitive Impairment, Parkinson's Disease, Anxiety, and Depression. I have experienced Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s in my immediate family. This makes me all too aware how important it is to keep the family informed of their loved one’s stability or changes that occur.
I can offer hourly, daily or overnight care as well as respite live in care.
As an experienced carer, I am very conscious of maintaining dignity and privacy, especially during personal care. My role includes assisting with day to day routine, including maintaining hygiene (both personal and in the home), prompting medication, encouraging/assisting mobility, preparing and cooking balanced healthy meals, encouraging fluid intake,finances and record keeping of same, chauffeuring to appointments or social events enhancing the quality of life for those I look after.I am known for being caring, friendly, and always willing to lend a helping hand, making me a reliable and trusted presence in my clients' lives.
Outside of my caregiving duties, you can find me indulging in hobbies such as music, puzzles, embroidery, knitting, reading, and relaxing with a good TV show. I am also a lover of animals, especially dogs, which can bring an extra layer of joy and companionship to a home environment. My deep-seated motivation for caregiving stems from a desire to empower individuals to lead independent lives, ensuring that they feel supported, valued, and respected at all times.
