Description
Hello I am Zion. I am passionate about caring for people, a quality that I have had since birth. I first embarked on a career in helping others in 2013 when I worked as a Volunteer Youth Worker. Since then I have worked in Supported Living Settings as a support worker caring for young autistic adults, in care homes as a care assistant, a registered back-up carer for a foster parent, and now work as a live-in carer.
I have supported the same gentleman for three and a half years, but sadly our time together is coming to an end. I have supported him from the beginning stages of mild Alzheimers, to now the late stages, through a big stroke, and number of T.I.A’s and declining mobility.
I have liaised with doctors, occupational therapist, district nurses, physiotherapists and other professionals as part and an extension of caring for my clients.
I find fulfilment, purpose, enjoyment, and the need to do my best by caring for others with a person centred approach, with dignity, respect, involving them in decision making, giving them privacy and their own space, but yet being around for a conversation and companionship.
I am upbeat, with a positive attitude, and a willingness to care.

Zion is an exceptional carer. As well as being reliable, responsible, articulate and time conscious, she is also knowledgeable, integral, empathetic and very jovial. My mother has dementia and is bed bound. Zion interacted exceedingly well with her whilst providing the person centred care that she required. Thank you Zion!

The fact that Zion has been my father's live-in carer for the past three and a half years is testament in itself. Not only has she looked after him beautifully, she has also been great company for him with lively conversation, kindness and humour. They have a genuine rapport – and I believe it is this consistency and level of care that have slowed his decline.
