Description
My name is Machema. Known as ema for short, I have 21 years of experience.
I have good communication skills demonstrated in my current job role as a bank healthcare assistant at a local hospital. I also have the nursing skill of empathy, fostering positive therapeutic relationships with patients. I can empathise with patients, and I have good attending behaviour skills.
I have developed a minimal understanding of applying policy and legislation when providing patient care and support. I also understand frameworks such as the Human Rights Act (1998) and Equality Act (2014). I advocate for patient involvement in care decisions on the realisation that patients are the experiential experts of their health issues.
I am a suitable candidate for this role as I have already completed a Foundation degree in Health and Social care. This has given me a head start in gaining research skills for using resources for assessments or information to inform my clinical practice and decision-making. Since I demonstrated a positive attitude when engaging with the Foundation degree in Health and Social care, I successfully passed the following Level 5 modules such as “Collaborative health and social care”, “Health promotion-challenges and opportunities”, “Group dynamics and working in teams”, “Empowerment and advocacy”, “Planning care delivery” and “Working for Older people” for which understanding nursing care was fundamental.
I have developed an effective work-life balance, using practical time management skills that would assist me in planning effectively. I also have gained research skills to navigate resources for assessments or information to inform my clinical practice or within any healthcare setting.
