Description
I have worked in various social care settings for over 15 years (including Nash College, Mencap and other private care providers) from where I have gained broad knowledge in providing professional support to client to enable and promote independent living and fulfilment. I am a conscientious worker and a credible team player with high degree of flexibility towards performance of my job.
In the course of seeking both personal and professional development, I have achieved my level 3 in Health & Social Care which has better facilitate my aspired role as a Senior support worker with my previous employer. I’ve also had several relevant trainings such as common induction standards, manual handling, infection control, medication administration, record keeping and updating, safeguarding of vulnerable adults, crisis and behavioural management –MAYBO 3, mental capacity act, equality and diversity amongst others. I’ve also been privileged to have worked with adults with dementia and also young adult with Autism and learning disabilities and has in the process had various responsibilities within my working team to fully support the client to fulfil their independent living, meeting their desired needs, outcomes & destinations; this has also equipped me to always work within required support plan as well as adherence to the policies and procedures acting as guideline to fulfil my job roles.
I previously work as part of a behaviour team where service users with challenging behaviour is supported to push boundaries, fulfilling their potentials, achieving their set outcomes & destinations as well as having high level of daily support while upholding their dignity, promoting their choice, independent as well as safeguarding and protecting them from any form of abuse.
I am highly skilled in implementing person-centred support plan which allows service users /clients to make an informed decision and also respecting and supporting their voice, wishes, aspirations and others.
