Description
Hello my name is Martina, I have been in care for six years plus, two and half years spent as a Nurse. I have worked in hospitals, care homes and live in cover on weekends. I also currently care for my sister who has Down syndrome.
I enjoy care because I am able to help individuals live a more independent life when choosing to live at home. Another reason is, I know that one day I might need care and hope someone will care for me as I do for people now. This is why I like to go the extra mile to show respect, empathy and patience at all times.
I am able to assist with daily routines including:
- Personal hygiene
- Medications
- Catheter care
- wound dressing
- Monitoring pressure areas
- Peg feed
- Laundry, shopping, meal preparation and feeding with clients preferences
whatever your needs are, if this is within my scope of experience, we can always discuss and find solutions together.
My last client was lovely lady with motor neurones disease, I was covering for her during the weekends but she became my permanent client. I worked together with the family and ensured she was comfortable, we did hoist transfers, peg feeding, booking appointments and transportation and companionship.
A bit about myself: I was born in Ghana and came to the United Kingdom 15 years ago. I truly enjoyed my childhood as there was a lot of freedom to roam around and enjoy nature. I completed secondary school in Ipswich Suffolk and moved to London. In my spare time I like to catch up with friends, travel when possible.
I look forward to working together to achieve your care needs and plans.
