Description
***Not able to provide live-in care***
Hi, I'm Maria, mother of 4 children. I'm portuguese, born in Portugal and living here in the UK for 17 years.
I'm a very strict person, I love organisation and discipline because it helps to deal with life a bit better. Aside of those almost military characteristics I'm a softie at heart too. I love cooking and taking walks, only when the weather is to my pleasing as I'm not a fan of rain and cold, but I like a little bit of snow. I've taken more into reading now but just haven't found enough time for it yet.
I started as a carer as a last resort to employment but realised that I enjoy very much caring for others and supporting them with their day to day life. What made me enjoy even more being a carer was the fulfillment of seeing clients happy with the support I provided, and knowing I was of help to someone.
I've been in the care service for 6 years. I have experience in various settings of care. I have experience in residential care with various disabilities support, such as bed bound, wheelchair users, blindness, different ways of communication. I am currently supporting senior individuals within their own homes who require support due to limited mobility, changes within their health and wellbeing.
I'm compassionate, caring, with great interpersonal skills.
My availability is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday, 9am to 2/3pm. I can provide bed time care from 6pm to 9pm, Monday to Friday only.

Maria visited my mother twice a week to carry out housekeeping and other carer duties. She was employed for about a year before she moved out of the area. She was very conscientious, professional, and caring; my mother had been reluctant to have any help her but soon struck up a good relationship with Maria. Maria was also proactive in suggesting things that could be done to improve things. I would happily recommend Maria. Jon

Maria has been fantastic in caring for my Dad. She is very friendly, reliable, attentive and really good at her job. She is so cheerful and good with him, they have lovely conversations, and she even helps and encourages him with his exercises. The family would not hesitate at all to recommend Maria to anyone looking for a truly excellent carer.
