Description
My name is Innocent and I am a male home carer with more than one year experience in providing care for individuals with a variety of needs. I'm a Kenyan doctor by profession and had seven years of clinical practice before moving to the UK on a Dependant Visa. This clinical experience has given me valuable knowledge and have cared for clients who have Mild Cognitive Impairment, are bedbound, have Parkinson's Disease, deal with anxiety and depression, and those needing catheter and PEG care, to mention a few. My UK experience has helped me gain skills in assisting with bathing, toileting, dressing, and providing companionship.
One of the things that sets me apart is the prior medical knowledge gained which I'm able to apply when performing my duties. Also, I'm able to drive, and have my own car. This allows me to not only provide care within the client's home, but also to accompany them to appointments or outings. I understand the importance of maintaining independence and am committed to helping my clients achieve this.
In addition to my skills as a carer, I also have a range of hobbies that I can share with my clients. I enjoy walking, dancing, playing card games, solving puzzles, and photography. These activities provide not only enjoyment but also opportunities for social interaction and mental stimulation.
When it comes to pets, I am comfortable caring for cats, dogs, fish, rabbits, and birds. I understand the bond that exists between individuals and their pets and I am happy to assist with pet care responsibilities as well.
Above all, I consider myself to be a caring, friendly, and helpful individual. I am motivated by the satisfaction of knowing that I am making a positive difference in the lives of others. As a carer and a doctor, my goal is to help people lead independent lives while providing them with the support and companionship they need.
