Description

Hi
I am 57 and have a son 23 and a husband 61 and we live in the beautiful countryside of Middleton just outside Heysham with our dog Jess who is 12, we are very happy and love our home. I have had horses all my life but had to sell my mare last November due to me working so much and it was not fair on her but we did lots jumping clinics at Myerscough Collage and cross country prior to this. I love animals, karaoke, dancing, walking, nature and travel but most of all i love people.
I love being a self employed carer as i have lots of different clients with different personalities , hobbies, wants and needs and this makes my week very varied which i enjoy. it dosen't really feel like work after a while as i feel like part of the family and treat there homes and family like i would my own.
I have fostered for 6.5 years children suffering from neglect and abuse, and then went on to work in supported living for 2.5 years with young adults with autism, learning difficulties, and mental health. I now work for myself and have a client with cerebral palsy, an acquired brain injury, shaken baby syndrome and partially sighted, another client who has autism and is two to one, and another lady who has learning difficulties.
I love my job would not do anything else, I have loads of training Mappa, Team teach, first aid, emotion coaching, allegations and advice, education needs of looked after children, drug and alcohol awareness, attachment training, parent & child, safer care, COSHH Essentials, Child Sexual Exploitation, Defensible Documentation, Equality & diversity in the work place, Food Safety & Hygiene, Five Safety Awareness, General Data Protection GDPR, Health & Safety, Handling Information, Harmful Sexual Behaviour, Infection Prevention & Control, Therapeutic Parenting, Medication Practice, Supporting The Mental Health Needs Of Looked After Children, Manual Handling, Online Safety & Cyber Bullying, Risk Assessment, RIDDOR, Safeguarding, Self harming behaviours

Amanda has supported my daughter for the last 18 months, being very very reliable, taking her out and arranging different activities each week. She is very experienced and really gets to know her clients needs, moods etc. My daughter loves the time she spends with her and keeps asking when she is coming again.
