I've been working in a support worker role for the last two years, but I've known I love helping people since I was a teenager. I assisted my parents in taking care of grandma and I saw the joy on her face whenever I assisted her with things around the house. I have a strong work ethic, I have plenty of experience in helping people. The experience I have gained in life so far, both personally and professionally, I feel, will ensure that I carry out the role of a Support Worker to the necessary standards. I enjoy my work as I feel comfortable assisting people. I really enjoy making a difference to people’s lives, and I also gain a tremendous amount of job satisfaction when I can visibly see the difference my work is making to others. I believe my biggest strengths as a support worker include patience, organisation, and communication. I used my organisational skills to ensure no one was left out, and my communication skills came in handy when clients started to tell their stories. I have experience working with children, young adults and the elderly and hope to become a social worker one day. I like to create for myself a great work life balance. Cooking and Travel are my passion. I’ve been to 7 countries so far, and I’m not done yet! I love learning and adapting to new cultures, finding commonalities between people everywhere, and just trying a bunch of new foods.

I am a mother of 4. I love to cook and to do house work, like cleaning, packing and arranging the wardrobe and drawers. I find it therapeutic. I like the idea of opening the wardrobe and see where everything is. During lockdown I decided to take walking as a form of exercise. I used to hate it, and honestly can't believe how much I love and enjoy it now. I also love DIY and decorating, arranging flowers, doing the garden, if it's not too hot. I also love to read. Anything, a book, newspaper, online news, magazines. I believe one can never learn enough, anything that would enhance my knowledge, I am up for it. I love taking care of people. I believe it’s a privilege for me to be in a position to help someone. I therefore, do it with pride and a lot of love. Honesty is the most important thing to me. I respect other people’s choices in life, whether it’s religion or lack thereof or anything at all. I understand the importance of privacy and to receive care with utmost dignity. The service user’s needs and choice always comes first in my delivery of care. I do what is right all the time, every time. I strive to be a small factor in the health care of service users, that makes a big difference and brighten their day. I love what I do. I care about people I care for, because I believe, you can’t care, if you don’t care. I have worked in the care industry for almost 14 years. Doing all aspects of care, both clinical and none clinical. I take my job seriously. I have worked in Care Homes, with the elderly with dementia. Day care centres, with young people with learning disabilities and complex health care needs. Domiciliary care work, with patience who have been CHC referred and some who are private. I do my work with diligence and do everything by the book.

My name is Hina Malik, i am 30 years old. I am currently single and living with my lovely parents who i love and try to always make happy and proud. I used to be a resturant store manager for pizza hut and kfc in london before i took a year and a half off to care for my elderly mother with diabetes, arthritis, cholesterol and anxiety that made me realise my true passion. It has been nearly two months i have been professionally doing care work. As i mentioned my parents mean alot to me and since i have been a carer professionally my parents have never been more proud of me. My dad is a property devoloper but he has dedicated most of his profits and life to help poor families in need all his life. My mother is a lovely house wife to 5 children. After many career paths and skills i relalised this feild is my passion. I am always passionate to learn therefore i have gained many skills professionally i am a beautician, make up artist, henna artist. Nail technician, barber for mens, hair stylist for both men and women, a tailor, interirior designer, builder, great indian cook but also can cook other dishes and a sketch artist+wall paint artist! I have tried some of the fields out professionally but never could enjoy it until i became a carer. That was the reason i could not fit in to being a manager as i am a kind hearted person and being a manager required harshness which i couldn't be. I always love smiling and laughing, keeping the atmosphere light and happy. The previous customer i took care of for a month as a live in had spastic serebal palsy1 say she loved that i wouldnt mind going the extra mile as my customers happiness mattered to me aswell as care. My mother had a long term anxiety battle where i left work to give my 100 percent attention to her. Slowly but surely i helped my mother recover. The words i was given by my client at the end of my 4 week rotation was resilient, kind, fun to spend time with, great cook, going the extra mile!
