I've been doing care work since 2008, I've done many other jobs but I always go back to care as care is what I love. I'm a very chatty bubbly person and I love listening to stories and looking at old photos as there's always a story behind them. I started my care roll in 2008 as I decided I wanted to help others and I progressed a lot along the way. I started in community care where I lived in Essex and absolutely loved my job and all my clients, when I moved to Kent in 2016 I worked in a dementia care home which was very tough at times but just seeing the smiles I could put on the residents faces made it all worthwhile. I then left the care home to look after my husbands nan who came to live with us and was end of life, after she died I decided to go back to the care home and they offered me the role of night senior so I was in charge of the whole home, 50 dementia residents plus 3 other care staff I didn't like the senior role and decided I wanted to go back to community care I've worked for a few companies since and unfortunately the latest company I worked for had to close down. I was asked by quite a few of my clients if I would still stay on doing their care privately as they didn't want me to leave them, thats what made me contact prime carers as I know I can make a change to my clients lives even if for just a short time. I've done end of life training plus palliative care training. Hopefully I can make a change to yourself or a loved ones life.

I enjoy ensuring that all of my clients recieve tailormade care according to their needs with their input placed at the forefront of everything I do. I have 8 years of Care experience starting as a Care Assistant, working my way to Senior Carer and Activity Coordinator in a residential home of 42 residents who had various forms of Dementia, leading a team of 7 Care Assistants. I then moved into live in care, caring for couples who both again had various forms of Dementia and other health issues. I have experience of working with Stoma bags, catheters and peg feeds. Throughout my years working in the Care sector I have gained experience in drafting client care plans, liasing with professionals such as Doctor's, Social Workers, Benefits advisors, Local Council offices all to ensure that my clients needs are met. I fully am aware that not everyday is going to be the same emotionally mentally or physically with my clients and do adapt to suit their needs. Part of my duties as a Live in Carer was the upkeep of my clients home as well as the ordering in of groceries and daily meal prep. I also would give both clients hair cuts, wash and dry's. My female clients also particularly liked manicures and pedicures which brightened up their day. In my role of Activity Coordinator I used to plan and engage our residents with activities that stimulated their mind and body with various games and exercises. These would not only help break up their day but also give them something to look forward to engaging in. I would also centre activities in the build up to current event for example start making home made Xmas decorations or cards in the run up to Christmas.

I have had many years experience caring for family members and friends along with my children. My eldest child is disabled so I have done many many courses on various types of illnesses. I have been caring professionally visiting clients in there homes. My experience with these clients run from 28 years old to 98 years old both male and female. I have passed every course I have been on from first aid to end of life care. I am experienced in personal care, hoisting, end of life, dementia, medication, autism, stokes ect My clients, have been very happy with the care they have received from me and have only gone out on my own instead of working for a company direct as I have good morals and can follow my own guidelines as care companies guidelines sometimes prevents you from caring out essential things. I love caring , it is the most rewarding job. I am extremely empathetic with both clients and there families.
