Hi, my name is Avlon, and I've been a home carer for three years now. I provide Live-in, Hourly, and Overnight care to those in need, with a variety of care types, including bathing, toileting, assistance with dressing, catheter care, and companionship. My priority is to help people lead independent lives, and it's a joy to provide assistance to those who need it. I'm a very caring, friendly and helpful person, and I love meeting new people. I'm highly motivated by helping people live independently, and that's what keeps me going each day. I can drive and have a car, and I have experience in caring for patients with mild cognitive impairment, bedbound patients, those with Parkinson's Disease, and those struggling with anxiety and depression. When I'm not caring, I enjoy walking, dancing, playing card games, and cooking and baking. I'm also passionate about decorating. During my weekly daytime job, I provide welfare support to over 65s at the acute Gloucestershire hospitals on a part-time basis. Outside of these hours I can provide my private clients with support before their discharge. This may involve social visits, cleaning and preparing their home for their arrival (including a grocery shop). Depending on their mobility, I can assist the client home and settle them in. This service can extend to a Sleep-in shift if the client does not yet feel confident staying alone over night. This service can be adapted for couples. If you're looking for a reliable and experienced carer, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to discuss your needs and provide any assistance that I can.

Hi, I am married with 2 girls and cats and I enjoy running, cycling, swimming, walking and going to the gym. I also enjoy taking part in community projects and voluntary work when possible. I love films and family time and generally enjoy life and all the positive things it brings! Alongside this, my occupation as a care assistant has been ongoing. 18 years ago I started at Cheltenham General Hospital and then transistioned into the community a couple of years later. It was in the community setting that I really felt comfortable and was able to apply my incredible training into my day to day work. This enabled me to do what I love: helping people in the environment that suited them. With regards to my job, I have had varied experience over 18 years. I have cared for patients in a clinical setting and in then their own homes. Clinical skills have involved stoma care, catheter bags, controlled drugs, fluids etc. The hospital taught me the importance of documentation which puts safety first for everyone invovled. Care work has been anything from personal care to assistance with transfers and getting out and about. Other aspects of my job include shopping, cleaning, cooking, medication etc. As well as looking after others I have also managed my Dad's care for four and a half years. I believe this has given me a much deeper understanding of the effects on the family as well as the patient. This experience has only enhanced my empathy for others in this situation. However, all care provided to help with daily living is on an individual basis. Therefore the care plan will put the client first to empower them and promote their independence whilst negotiating with the family a plan that serves the situation well into the long term for continuity of care.

I am a mother to 4 amazing children and have worked in the care sector for the previous 5 years. I decided to become a carer as I was previously a stay at home mother and as my children grew up and became more independent I found myself with a lot of free time on my hands and thought what better can I spend my free time than taking of the elderly and vulnerable. The things I enjoy most about being a carer is being able to support and help those who struggle and are in need of support as I find great joy in being able to help people and have a caring nature due to me raising 4 kids. My previous partner also had medical conditions and I was his carer so I have had experience in this field before I became employed in it. I've worked for two care agencies in the past which are nationwide and right Trust care in which I was doing home visits which consisted of me providing clients with all aspects of personal care.
