Description

I am a motivated, enthusiastic support worker with more than 15 years of fostering a cohesive caring atmosphere wherever I work. In addition to that I am a secondary school teacher by profession who teaches Child care,Health and Social care among other subjects and l usually teach my students what l practice as I am a Carer during my spare time when I'm not teaching.
I have a lot of experience working with both young and old people.
With young adults I have worked with children with severe and mild learning disability and some physically disabled. My duties among others were supporting with personal care, supporting with dressing ,meal preparation and driving the Van. Since I did my NVQ3 in Health and Social care my other duty was to administer medication.
I also took these service users out shopping and abroad on holidays. I have been to Disneyland in France with some. I am therefore able to take clients on abroad or local holidays if required as I am very flexible.
With adults on the other hand I am very good with communication and l usually do some Live-in assignments during my school breaks and sometimes as long as 5 continues weeks at one client. I am very reliable, organised and work very well without supervision. As a Food Technology teacher in school l always use my knowledge to prepare delicious meals for my clients, which they enjoy a lot. I always take my personal car to work and I am not fussy to use it for my client's business, e.g. going shopping or picking some medication. I am also able to drive clients cars if I'm insured.
Of recent l have done some domiciliary care work supporting with personal care, preparation of meals and administration of medication. I have also did some working nights where l supported the client with toileting throughout the night and any other needs during the night.
