Description
I am an NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse, who has completed BSc Honours Degree, The course provided a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and I completed an extended essay on safe guarding vulnerable adults ‘the impact of NICE guidelines on nursing practice’
I am a well-focused compassionate, and committed to safeguarding the medical needs, comfort and emotional well- being of patients under my care. I have very good communication skills which enable me to develop strong bonds/rapport with the patient and families. I consider each patient based on their individual needs such as emotional, spiritual and psychological and evaluating outcomes on a continuous basis by monitoring and recording information precisely
Within my experience working as a Mental Health Nurse, it has developed me as evidence based critical thinking practitioner. I have also gained a lot of experience working with older adults with mental health issues, both organic and functional illnesses and also working in an Adult Acute Mental Health Units within Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire which had a rapid turnover of admissions and discharges. I have adapted the person-centred approach in my practice and respect the service users as a whole. I have gained knowledge, skills and experience to promote and maintain effective service for clients, using assessment framework, communication, negotiation, and collaboration; as well as maintaining confidentiality and awareness to legal frameworks (NMC, 2009) within nursing at all times. I am able to implement and deliver holistic nursing care using evidence-based practice, making use of research finding relevant to my area of work
