Pitzhanger Manor is the country villa that the architect Sir John Soane designed for himself around 1800, restored to show his colourful rooms and ideas. A modern gallery beside it holds changing art exhibitions, with a café and shop looking onto Walpole Park.

Brent Lodge Park sits beside the River Brent in Hanwell, near the Wharncliffe Viaduct, and is home to Hanwell Zoo, a small animal centre known locally as the Bunny Park. There is also a maze of 2,000 yews, a café, a playground and public toilets.

Northala Fields is a modern park beside the A40, built from the rubble of the old Wembley Stadium, with four large grassy mounds and a spiral path to a viewpoint over London. It has fishing lakes, a model boating lake, wildlife ponds and a visitor centre with a café and toilets.

There are two car parks, benches throughout the park and a café in the visitor centre, and the lakeside paths are easier going than the climb up the mounds.

Horsenden Hill is an area of ancient woodland, meadows and ponds on the edge of Perivale, and its summit is the highest point in Ealing, with views across London. The Grand Union Canal runs along its western side.

There is a car park off Horsenden Lane North, and the canal towpath and meadows on the west side are gentler than the climb to the summit.

Ravenor Park is a formal park in Greenford with a row of white poplars, exotic trees, a rose garden and a small woodland and meadow nature area. There is also a memorial garden of trees marking the 50th anniversary of D-Day.

The paths are tarmac and hoggin with only gentle slopes, and there are plenty of benches, which makes it an easy park for a slow walk.
