Chiswick House is an 18th century Palladian villa set in 65 acres of historic gardens that inspired the English landscape garden movement. The gardens have a serpentine lake, a classic bridge, a conservatory with a camellia collection and a café.

Hogarth's House was the country home of the painter William Hogarth, and it now shows his prints and paintings in the rooms where he lived. The small walled garden still has the mulberry tree from his time.

Entry is free, there is step-free access through the gates and lobby, and level access to the studio and the Mulberry Garden, though the first floor is up a narrow stair.

The London Museum of Water and Steam is a Victorian pumping station in Brentford with giant working steam engines that once pumped London's water supply. The Steam Hall and galleries show how water reached the city, and Stokers Café is on site.

The Musical Museum in Brentford holds a large collection of self-playing instruments, from music boxes and player pianos to a Wurlitzer organ. Volunteers demonstrate the instruments on a tour of just over an hour.
