Ulster American Folk Park

The Ulster American Folk Park is an open-air museum outside Omagh telling the story of emigration from Ulster to America, with thatched cottages and farmhouses, a village street, a full-size emigrant ship and log cabins of the New World. Costumed guides bring the houses to life with fires lit and crafts under way.

The museum is large and mostly outdoors, so a carer should plan a shorter route through the Old World buildings and the ship, and check ahead as some outdoor areas are under maintenance.

Strule Arts Centre

Strule Arts Centre is Omagh's arts venue beside the River Strule, with a 384-seat theatre, a rooftop museum, galleries, a restaurant, a café and the town's visitor information centre. It is open Monday to Saturday and later on show nights.

Blue Badge parking spaces can be reserved when booking tickets, cars can drop off at the door, and a disabled visitor's companion can get a free ticket through the centre's assistance scheme.

Ecclesville Forest

Ecclesville Forest covers about 40 hectares of the old Ecclesville Demesne at Fintona, with spruce, larch and broadleaved trees. A network of hardcore paths is used by walkers and riders from the local equestrian centre.

The firm hardcore paths make it one of the easier woodland walks in the area, and a carer can simply turn back whenever your parent has had enough.
