I am calm, warm, friendly and dedicated to my job. A good listener who respects people’s privacy and dignity. I love engaging with the people I support in different ways like, chatting about various topics, drinking tea or lunch/snacks together, walking about in the park if they are able to, watching t.v together, games etc. as I feel that this is the best way to bring the best out of each other. I have worked with individuals with different backgrounds - with various support needs like: dementia, physical, mental disabilities, learning disabilities, eye sight impairment among others. I understand about personal centred care and I therefore treat everyone as individual and always allowing choices, consent as well as following each individual support plan needs in regards to their capacity without making judgements. I took care of my late mum who had cancer till her last breath. I saw the physical pains she went through and loads of medication/treatments I understand the physical, emotional, financial pains/strains that can impact the family members. I like working in a safe environment and therefore will raise concerns if there is any danger to the client and myself while at work. I know that it’s important to work together with all the support team for the best interest of the client.
