Somewhere to go
Shoreline path at Rutland Water
Rutland Water Visitor Centre, Empingham
A largely flat lakeside route along the southern and eastern shore of the reservoir, with cafes at Sykes Lane and Normanton and views across to the water. A carer can drive to a car park, walk as far as suits on the day and turn back, using the cafes as rest points.
Getting around: Accessible parking is available at each car park, and the Birdwatching Centre has an accessible toilet plus a mobility scooter to hire subject to availability.
