As a dementia support carer on PrimeCarers you’ll be working with people in their own homes, helping with personal care, companionship, medication prompts, mealtime support and maintaining routines that reduce confusion and distress. Much of the role is about patience, building trust and working to familiar patterns so the person can stay safe and comfortable in the place they know best. You’ll visit households across Wisbech and nearby towns such as Long Sutton, March, Downham Market, Holbeach, Kings Lynn and Crowland; carers often cover short evening or morning calls as well as regular daytime visits.

You’ll be self-employed, which means you set your own rates and choose your own clients, hours and service area. Typical rates for this kind of role are £18.80–£21.50 per hour. Some carers choose to charge by the hour (£18.80–£21.50 per hour) while others offer occasional live-in days (£145–£160 per day) — it’s up to you how you package your time.
