“My week in Wigan can look quite different from one day to the next: a few hours here, a full night there, sometimes staying as live-in support for longer stretches. Over 22 years I have come to particularly value the steady, patient kind of care, the sort where you keep showing up until trust builds and someone feels genuinely at ease with you.”

He developed a close affinity with Terence, spending time talking with him before he retired to bed and looking after his needs during the night. He even accompanied Terence to hospital one night when an ambulance had to be called because Terence was experiencing sever chest pains, staying with him until his shift finished.

“My week in Wrexham moves between hourly visits, overnight stays and longer live-in placements, and what I enjoy most is the practical, hands-on side of care, whether that's a hoist transfer, catheter care or helping with a nebuliser, alongside the quieter companionship that comes after.”

She quickly formed rapport with both the patient and her friends, guiding them through a tender time. Our friend died very peacefuly at home and, although Tsitsi was only needed for a very short time in the end, her role was very helpful. We were also very grateful for the swift support we received from PrimeCarers especially with finding us such a good carer at very short notice.

“I am a mother of seven grown up children and a bubbly caring compassionate person. Most of my care/support role has been in the clients home. Ranging from dementia, stroke, palliative care, learning disabilities and vulnerable adults. I can drive, cook, clean, iron, support with medication and mobility. I also love gardening, needlework, crosswords, painting and decorating and I am very IT literate enabling me to assist with emails, accounts etc.”
