There's nothing I enjoy more than a long walk followed by an afternoon of baking, and I find gardening keeps me settled on quieter days. Those simple pleasures shape how I approach care too: steadily, patiently, and with real attention to what makes someone feel comfortable in their own home. Before I moved into care, I spent thirty years working in a hospital imaging department as a fully qualified radiographer. That work taught me a calm, methodical way of doing things that I still carry with me, and I've recently applied for a new DBS check simply to keep my standards current. Eight years into care work now, I offer hourly and live-in support around Brentwood, helping people with conditions ranging from dementia and Parkinson's to stroke recovery, diabetes and end of life care. What I value most, though, is the company itself. Sitting down together for a proper meal, a walk if someone's able, or just a conversation over tea can matter as much as any task. I'm equally happy helping with bathing, dressing, medication reminders or catheter care, but it's the everyday companionship I think makes the real difference. I speak Bulgarian, English and Russian, which sometimes helps put people at ease too. If you'd like to talk about how I could help you or someone you love, I'd be glad to hear from you.
