I am a youthful individual in my 60s working in care since November 2015. I started of as a domiciliary carer which was invaluable experience. I have dealt with all types and stages of dementia and other complex medical cases. I hold a UK Passport and Driving License. I have driven manual and automatic cars, as well as mobility vehicles. However, I do not currently own a car. My enhanced DBS is on the update service. I am calm, patient, discreet, orderly, practical, adaptable, trustworthy, reliable, approachable and communicative - qualities that are especially important in care giving relationships where I serve as a companion and personal assistant and liaise with family members. I can generally say that I am laid-back, low profile and have a can-do attitude. My interests lay in the Humanities and Arts, particularly in history, archaeology, and music. I like board and card games and documentaries or live sports on TV such as football, tennis, athletics, and snooker. I prioritize staying fit and enjoy preparing straightforward, tasty and nutritious meals. I do not smoke but I won't mind if you do. I am comfortable around all animals. I am of Greek descent, and my wife is English. We split our time between Greece and England and we have two adult daughters who live in Sussex. I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, and studied Public Administration and International Relations at the University of the Witwatersrand. Before entering the UK care sector, I worked in the airline industry for 30 years, including 17 years at British Airways. I have also worked as a literary translator and as a CELTA-qualified English language teacher.
