I am a compassionate and reliable live-in carer with experience supporting elderly clients in their own homes. I provide care with kindness, patience, and respect, helping clients feel safe, comfortable, and valued while giving families peace of mind.

My work usually means moving in alongside a family for a stretch of live-in or overnight care, based from Doncaster, so the days settle into a steady rhythm rather than rushed visits. I like that pace. It gives me time to notice the small things, whether that's how someone prefers their tea or the point in the evening when they start to feel unsettled, and to be a calm, steady presence through the night as well as the day. When I first talk with a family, I make a point of being upfront about the practical things, like knowing exactly where my enhanced DBS check stands and when it's due for renewal. It's a small detail, but it reflects how I like to work generally: clearly, honestly, and without leaving loose ends. People tell me I have a steady, patient way of speaking, and I think that comes across in how I approach the caring itself. Over ten years I've supported people through dementia, stroke, Parkinson's, learning disabilities and a range of physical and mental health conditions, and I'm confident with hands-on care as well as everyday help like cooking, laundry and companionship. I like nothing better than settling in with a cup of tea and a chat, and I find that is often where the real connection with a client begins. I offer hourly, live-in and overnight care in Ebbw Vale, and I speak Afrikaans, English and Herero as well. Some of the clients I have supported do not get many visitors, and I have learned how much it means simply to sit and listen, to hear their life stories or find out what they enjoyed doing when they were younger. If someone fancies a hobby, a bit of crafting, reading or a trip to a day centre, I am happy to join in. Starting someone's day well matters to me too, helping with washing and dressing while still letting them choose what to wear or eat, so they keep a bit of independence in their routine. Over four years I have supported people with dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, arthritis and heart disease, among other conditions, and I am confident with personal care, moving and handling, catheter care and medication reminders.
