That adaptability has stayed with me through 12 years of care work, across three different companies, and it still shapes how I show up for every family I work with in City of Milton Keynes. Overnight care is where I feel I have made the most difference. I have spent countless nights in clients' homes, there for the quiet hours as well as the busy ones, and that consistency builds a particular kind of trust with families. It is not just about the practical support, though I bring plenty of that, from medication reminders and moving and handling to hoist use and personal care. It is about the rapport that grows when someone knows you will be there, night after night, calm and dependable. I offer hourly, overnight and live-in care, and my experience spans dementia, learning disabilities, autism, stroke, physical disability, mobility problems and end of life care, among others. I speak English and Igbo, and I enjoy bringing a bit of life into the day, whether that is a game of cards, some music, a walk outside or just good conversation over a meal.
