One of the relationships I am proudest of lasted several years, supporting the same client through to the end of their life. That bond taught me what care really means: showing up consistently, learning someone's rhythms and preferences, and staying steady even when things become difficult. I am based in Stratford-upon-Avon and offer hourly, live-in and overnight care, and I have supported people with dementia, including vascular dementia and Alzheimer's, alongside conditions such as stroke, heart disease, Parkinson's and respiratory illness. I also speak French and Portuguese, which has helped me connect with a few of the families I have worked with. Day to day, I try to make ordinary moments feel unhurried, whether that is a proper sit-down meal, a walk outside, or simply chatting over a cup of tea. I am comfortable with the full range of personal care, from bathing, dressing and toileting to catheter care, medication reminders and moving and handling, but I place real value on companionship too. Cooking together, working through a puzzle, or just having someone to talk to can make as much difference as the practical support. I offer hourly visiting care around Preston, and after three years in the job, including a long stretch of night shifts, I've learned that reliability and a steady manner matter as much as any skill. Companionship sits at the heart of how I work. I like to share a proper meal rather than leave one on a tray, keep a conversation going, and just be good, easy company through the day. Alongside that, I help with washing, dressing, moving and handling, catheter care and medication reminders, and I keep the home tidy and organised.
