Since I was ten years old, I have helped look after a family member with epilepsy, and that early experience shaped the way I think about care long before it became my profession. I now offer hourly, live-in and overnight care in Croydon, and I speak English, Russian and Uzbek, which has often helped me connect with families straight away. Over three years of professional work, across domiciliary care, care homes and private roles, I have supported people with a wide range of needs, including dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, epilepsy, learning disabilities and autism, as well as conditions like diabetes and heart disease. Day to day, I help with everything from bathing, dressing and moving and handling to medication reminders, catheter care and cooking, and I always try to bring companionship alongside the practical support. I have recently completed an enhanced DBS check and am happy to share the certificate. Since 2018 I have worked in hourly care around Bracknell, and along the way I completed a degree in nursing theory alongside my hands-on visits, because I wanted to understand the reasons behind the practical skills I was building. For a while I also worked as a field-based manager, which gave me a broader view of what good care looks like before I returned to spending my time directly with clients, which is where I feel most useful. I speak English, Romanian and Russian, and I bring a calm, methodical approach to visits, whether that is helping with medication, personal care, or supporting someone with a long-term condition such as dementia, Parkinson's or MS. What I enjoy most, though, is the company side of the work: sitting down for a proper chat over a cooked meal, going out for a walk, playing cards or getting stuck into a puzzle together. I find those small shared moments matter as much as any task on a care plan, and I try to bring genuine warmth and steadiness to each visit rather than rushing through it. I bring that same measured approach to live-in care in Bourne End, where I've worked for six years now. I speak Bosnian, Croatian, Hungarian, Russian and Serbian alongside English, and I've kept building on my training through several induction and development courses, because I'd rather keep learning than assume I know it all. Day to day, I help with the practical things that make independence possible: washing, dressing, moving safely with a hoist if needed, catheter and colostomy care, medication reminders, and meals cooked properly rather than just heated up.
