Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. Excellent committed carer for my father in his final 5 years whilst he was a wheelchair user and in his final 10 months bedbound. Julie was very conscientious and trustworthy. “I can truly say that Peter always put Dad at the centre of everything and I know that they found a great friendship in difficult times.”

Peter was the live in carer for my father during the last 9 months of his life. Trusting someone to look after your loved one 24/7 is a huge issue but with Peter it was easy. He always had my Dad’s best interests at heart health care wise but I also know how he encouraged my Dad in other ways and it was lovely to…

“She enabled mum to lead a high quality life in her own home until the very end and Lena and her family became close personal friends to me and my family.”

Jelena was always very professional and skilled in her job as a carer and was extremely diligent in looking after my 95 year old mother. I lived next door and witnessed on a daily basis the care she took in dressing (and undressing) mum, teasing her lack of appetite with delicious home cooked and meals and taking her…

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
