Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“We can all fully relax around Nyarai and she feels like part of our family, which is no mean feat!”

My mother-in-law is being wonderfully cared for by Nyarai, who lives in. Nyarai is constantly aware of my mother-in-law's needs, but yet she sits in the background giving my M-i-L the space and privacy that is so important to her and to those who visit her. Nyarai is intuitive and reads people and situations very…

“I'm so happy that we have Esther on our little team and I'd recommend her to anyone looking for someone to help looking after a loved one.”

Esther is brilliant. She is absolutely lovely and clearly has a wealth of experience as a care giver. She has been great for my mum (who has dementia) and has been able to offer a huge amount of support in terms of navigating health services. I'm so happy that we have Esther on our little team and I'd recommend her…

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
