Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“The quality of life that she's given my parents has been priceless. The peace of mind she's given my sisters and I, through a very difficult time, has been invaluable.”

For the last five years, Lili has been my parents' live-in carer. The only reason we're saying goodbye to her is that my father now needs a carer who can drive. It's our loss. Lili is truly talented at her job. She is cheerful, kind, patient, respectful, elegant, a great cook and a delight to be around. My 97 year old…

“Best of all she helped Mum feel good about herself again: by listening to her, caring for her medical and personal needs in a professional, humane and calm way”

Peri is a kind and very experienced carer and when my Mother was becoming increasingly frail and ill with Alzheimers she came and helped us all cope with the destructive behaviours and pain this illness can bring. Mum and Dad have always been strongly independent and resisted any external help but the strain of…

“She arrived on time was very friendly and nice to chat with and really helped me getting out as I find it very difficult to motivate and go out”

My first session with Aminah and I was very well treated. She arrived on time was very friendly and nice to chat with and really helped me getting out as I find it very difficult to motivate and go out due to several health problems and very low motivation. I will definitely be meeting up with Aminah on a regular…

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
