Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“As well as helping him with household tasks and massaging his legs, she is also a wonderful companion: engaging him in conversation, playing games and even going on short outings.”

Rochelle has been amazing with my disabled brother. Carl is profoundly deaf, has severe lymphedema and learning difficulties. “She also took great care to involve my mother in helping her do things through the day, which made a real difference to my mother's wellbeing.”

Rosma looked after my mother and father (both in their 90s) for several weeks at a tricky time when they first needed a live-in carer. She was professional, experienced and thoughtful. The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
