Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“Mario was an amusing and affectionate companion - he for example looked out my father's favourite music, engaged him in conversation and made sure he was as comfortable as possible.”

I am very happy to be given the opportunity to highly recommend Mario da Assuncao N. Mario was the primary carer for my father over a period of almost two years. My father was aged 100, had suffered a fall and, though mentally fully alert, was physically incapacitated. The care was in my father's own home where Mario…

“He is demonstrating to the family on a daily basis, an excellent professional attitude.”

I would like to thank Michael for his outstanding commitment to caring for our mum. He is demonstrating to the family on a daily basis, an excellent professional attitude. In using hoists to move mum, administrating medications, food preparation and feeding, cleaning and bathing mum and his all round general care…

“My mother had dementia but Karlette was never impatient even when the same story or question was repeated several times.”

Karlette was employed to look after my mother from 2005 to 2014. My mother was 96 when the arrangement started and and died at 105. From the start Karlette impressed me with her respect and compassion. She helped my mother to get washed and dressed, get up and down stairs, bed making, going to the toilet and getting…

“She is just one of those people that looks around, sees what needs to be done and does it.”

I would have given her 6 stars if I had been able. She is really bubbly and puts you at your ease, which is really important in personal care. Once she finishes the key tasks she just gets on with lots of other work without being asked. She is just one of those people that looks around, sees what needs to be done and…

My 94 year old mother really enjoyed meeting Chloe. She did a 2 hour evening visit with mums regular carer to get an idea of the sort of things needed. Both my mother and the Carer said they thought Chloe very capable and would be very happy to use her again. My mother said she enjoyed chatting to Chloe who seemed a…

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
