Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“Maz would take mum out in her wheelchair either to the shops or to the village pond to feed the ducks which mum loved to do.”

Maz looked after my mum but I'm afraid I cannot remember dates etc but it was for a few years. I couldn't have wished for anyone nicer than Maz, she dressed my mum thoughtfully (didn't just put any mismatched or dreary clothes on mum) and she always dressed my mum's hair. I would walk into the lounge, look at my mum…

“Irene was a very kind and empathetic carer who knew just the right words to say to put a smile on my face.”

Irene was a very kind and empathetic carer who knew just the right words to say to put a smile on my face. She always had a way of encouraging my independence while assisting me at the same time but most of all she respected my privacy. I would be happy to have her again.

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
