Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“Not only has she looked after him beautifully, she has also been great company for him with lively conversation, kindness and humour.”

The fact that Zion has been my father's live-in carer for the past three and a half years is testament in itself. Not only has she looked after him beautifully, she has also been great company for him with lively conversation, kindness and humour. They have a genuine rapport – and I believe it is this consistency and…

“Throughout this process Merjury has given first class, conscientious, reliable and compassionate care.”

Merjury has looked after my mum (who has dementia) for five years as a full-time, live-in carer. During this time, mum has deteriorated from being mobile with some capacity, to being bed-bound and needing to be fed, dressed, turned and have all personal care done. Throughout this process Merjury has given first class,…

The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
