Checked means we check identity and right to work and require an enhanced DBS certificate before a carer can use the platform, and carers record an online interview about their experience and approach to care. We do not check qualifications, training or references. You choose your carer, and remain responsible for checking their skills, training and documents suit your needs. See what we check, and what you check.

“She did not leave my mum’s side for three weeks as she slowly deteriorated and passed away”

Prisca provided 24/7 palliative care,at our home for both my mother and then a few months later, for my father, who both died of dementia, which as I’m sure you know is a cruel and difficult decease to have to nurse She was committed to her patient to a level that was beyond the call of duty. She did not leave my…

“Nina was patient, focussed on my aunt's physical well-being, and unfazed by what at the time was a new and uncertain situation”

Nina looked after my aunt at very short notice on a weekend. Nina was patient, focussed on my aunt's physical well-being, and unfazed by what at the time was a new and uncertain situation for my aunt who was trying to settle in back at home after a nasty fall followed by a long hospital stay. She was of great help in…

“She was hard working, willing and able to do anything both to support my husband and help me look after the house”

Merle came to our house as a live-in carer when my husband came out of hospital after a severe stroke. She was hard working, willing and able to do anything both to support my husband and help me look after the house and was flexible about when she took time off during the day to help me with my schedule. We…

“Even when things get a bit chaotic (as they sometimes do!), you’ve handled it with patience and a sense of humour — which is gold.”

Just wanted to say a big thank you for everything you’ve been doing lately. I really appreciate how you always bring a calm, steady energy — it makes a big difference, especially on the busier days. You’ve slotted into the routine really naturally, and I can see you genuinely care about getting things right. It…

“She paid so much care, attention, and loving duty towards him, that she made his life extra special in his last few years”

Marites (Tess) is a gem among carers, she looked after my father for almost 3 years until his death, during which she paid so much care, attention, and loving duty towards him, that she made his life extra special in his last few years. The Checks

How Do We Check
Private Carers?

ID and right to work

We check identity online with Yoti, a digital identity service, and right to work in the UK with a Home Office share code or passport.

Enhanced DBS Certificate

We ask carers on the platform to hold an accepted criminal-record check (Enhanced DBS issued within the last 2 years, DBS Update Service, Scottish PVG or Access NI), with renewal or rechecks depending on the accepted route.

Online Interview

Every carer records an online interview, in their own time, so we can understand their experience, communication style and approach to care. This is not a clinical assessment or a guarantee of suitability. Check a carer’s skills, experience and training with them before booking.

PrimeCarers is an introductory platform and does not provide, manage, supervise or clinically assess care.

Clients remain responsible for checking carer documentation, interviewing carers, checking suitability for their specific needs, and agreeing the scope of care directly with the carer.
